I create tactile, immersive sculptures inspired by landscapes and the organic shapes found in nature. My work invites touch, interaction, and residue, challenging the idea of art as the untouchable object and as an invitation to connect to the environment arond us. Using “Urban Driftwood”, which is salvaged wood and trash found on Amsterdam’s streets, I transform discarded materials into sculptural experiences that blend the natural and the artificial.
Each piece emerges intuitively: I don’t sketch or plan, but respond to the grain, texture, and feel of the material. This process reflects my meditative practice of observing water surfaces across Amsterdam, where I live and work. Through my art, I explore how urban and natural landscapes merge, evolve, and require maintenance, just like we do.
Currently, I am expanding my practice to incorporate glass and other synthetic materials such as latex, polyester and resin. I am working toward bigger, immersive installations which will allow visitors to explore the boundary between themselves and their environment. My goal is to spark connection, between people, places, and materials, both through sensory experience and shared care.
